London : to watch: ultimate must see: lion king - sobrang ganda ng musical na ito. as in truly a visual and aural spectacle. magnificent production design, para sa mga bata at sa mga isip bata...seriously, it brings back memories of lion king, the movie that I watched when I was a kid.
Mama Mia- para sa mga young at heart na mahilig sa ABBA tulad ng dad at mom ko, fun show to watch with people dancing (special thanks kay kuya dante for the uber-nice seats)
Swan Lake at the Royal Opera House- dito ang mga pa-sosy effect. syempre, cultured ang lola mo eh. ang ganda ng production, the swans were mesmerizing. Odette/Odile was magnificent.
To eat: Nando's- reminded me of Kenny Rogers back home, sobrang anghang na sauce, nice roasted chicken with big servings enough to feed an entire barangay. Relatively cheap comparted sa ibang restos.
Rendezvous- in leicester square, the place to be pagdating sa mga hollywood premieres...as in tom cruise, drew barrymore level...sobrang sarap ng ice cream, yoghurt, etc.
Costa Coffee-nice, aromatic thick hot chocolate with chocolate stirrers to boot, that you can duck and watch melt.
Ponti's- pastas are okay though a bit bland and nothing to crow about, but the cakes are truly delicious. be sure to get comfy with pigeons, though. the free show in covent garden was nice.
Yo Sushi- pretty food, though my sister got scared when she learned that the Russian spy ate here before he got poisoned. light and filling tempura and katsudon.
Pret-a-manger-to manger means to eat right? (if I remember my french correctly) nice big servings, though a could barely finish mine. it's ok i guess, if you're soaked in the rain and are tired and hungry from all that walking. masarap ang lasagna nila.
Scotland- Vittorria - the best restaurant I've tried in my entire stay in Scotland and London, located just across the b & b where we were staying. kaso lang, medyo mahal, the risotto marinara was very good as was the penne al salmon.
Pizza Express-ok ang food, usual italian fare, parang spaceship daw ang CR nila, according to my sister.
wagamama - a familiar name, thanks to robyn of the girl who ate everything blog, chicken curry ata kinain ko dun, plus as usual, I picked on all the plates of my entire family just to get a taste of everything, nice elevator, fast service, japanese-indian comfort food, coconut custard was interesting.
Orangery- at the royal botanical gardens, food was so-so though the place was built by Queen Victoria herself so that she could dine inside the royal gardens...beautiful view, bad food.
Harrod's- feast for all the the gourmets out there, la maison du chocolat, cheese bar, caviar, pastries are almost too pretty to eat, plus all the jamon serrano and iberico you can eat at the carving station, yun nga lang, exhorbitant prices...
Sorry, yan lang po naalala ko sa dami ng pinuntahan ko. Hands down winner sa food...yung chilean sea bass at pink salmon cooked by my dad at home in london. mapapapikit ka sa sarap. give me home-cooked meals over fancy restos, anytime.
Sa adventure, syempre 'yung cruise namin with the penguins, seals and puffins sa scotland at sa concert, syempre, yung kay beyonce sa wembley...haha, let me upgrade you.
Sa palaces, castles and towers, cguro ang windsor castle ang pinakagusto ko, c'mon what's not to like in a castle, I tell you. Sawa na nga ako sa castles and palaces, pero sobrang thankful ako sa pagka-gracious at accommodating ng lahat ng staff na nakilala ko, mapa-palasyo man o hindi. I really appreciate it, grabe...nalulungkot lang ako to compare what I have experienced in London, Scotland and Hongkong sa treatment ng mga disabled dito sa pinas. Sana ganon din ka-gracious.
