had the king dao spareribs with red sauce (P 165), shanghai spring rolls (P 128) and the fried beancurd skin with shitake mushrooms in oyster sauce (P 119) that franco of http://tableforthreeplease.blogspot.com/ had recommended along with salted fish with chicken and fried rice (P 128) that was also the recommendation of the other food bloggers. doused all of it with watermelon shake (P 73). if you go beyond the bloody appearance of the king dao spareribs to savor its sweetish aftertaste and just concentrate on its burst of flavor, then everything's a hit except for the shanghai rolls which i found a bit so-so.(i know, i know, i'm hard to please). total damage is 700 bucks for 3 people with plenty of leftovers. (we're girls you know, not carpenters...) heard the fried bread with cream dip is good too (P 79 for 3 pieces) though i haven't tried it myself yet.

super must-try: the salted fish with chicken fried rice which i give two thumbs up

the latest installment in the Batman franchise, this movie is a wild dark madcap look at Gotham's deepest recesses. this retelling lived up to its hype - with heath ledger's standout characterization as a psycho that just simply wants to run amok and sow anarchy just for the heck of it, to the stunning vistas depicted as part of the Hongkong and Gotham skylines, to the dark and brooding overall look and mood of film that separates it from the cartoonish Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher depictions of yore. The only sore spot about it was Batman's voice that was so effing distracting but other than that, it was awesome :P

had a late lunch with my officemates at sincerity restaurant at binondo last saturday. the kikiam was the best - had whole slices of pork that was encased in the familiar reddish brown wrapper. good and authentic unlike the supermarket and store bought ones (tasted five spice and a bit of coriander in there, if I'm not mistaken). the oyster cake was good too though a bit gelatinous for my taste as well as the chami and the crispy chicken though I was too full already. Food was authentic (at least compared to the Hongkong quality of food) down to the hole-in-the-wall diner nonexistent ambience.

adventure plus: got acquainted with the confusing maze that is Chinatown and got to ride in a pedicab which I haven't done in years.

had the 7-course degustation menu at lolo dad's saturday night. delightful melange of flavors consisting of caviar, foie gras, sea bass, chocolate ganache and creme brulee, among many other symphony of flavors.
only downside is I paid and it cost me an arm and a leg, but whatever...it was worth every penny :) ( @ 3,000 per plate)

photos and entire French degustacion menu to be added soon.
